A large part of Landsvirkjun’s marketing drive involves the analysis of markets and the identification of sought-after clients. A prime example of the success of this approach is the increased interest from the data center market, a growth industry, fed by increased internet usage and the demand for data security. Landsvirkjun has also managed a successful marketing campaign to gauge the interests of some of the largest clients in the world within the metallurgical grade silicon metal production industry, which is another growing industry.

Landsvirkjun completed power purchase contracts with two metallurgical grade silicon metal production companies this year: PCC in Húsavík and United Silicon in Helguvík.

Climate change is driving the worldwide demand for renewable energy. Landsvirkjun only generates renewable energy and the Company is enjoying increased interest from abroad as a result of the unique nature of this valuable commodity.

This increased demand highlights the competitive edge enjoyed by Landsvirkjun worldwide as we offer long-term contracts with predictable energy prices and a secure supply. Landsvirkjun is opening its doors to more clients as energy markets around the world are struggling to cope under difficult conditions, including falling energy prices and uncertainty within the market.

Our marketing initiative strives to maximise the potential yield and value of the natural resources Landsvirkjun has been entrusted with. This continued success will facilitate an increase in dividends CEO's Statement which will be distributed to Landsvirkjun’s owners, the Icelandic people, in coming years.
